5x6 Ceramic Hexagons for Tile Designs

How to Use 5x6 Ceramic Hexagons

5x6 ceramic hexagons give a wall or backsplash a defined geometric look without relying on a busy pattern. Use them behind a kitchen range or as a focused feature around a fireplace.

The shape also works well when the surrounding materials are kept simple. Pair the hexagons with larger, understated ceramic tiles to create contrast without competing patterns. A similar grout color makes the surface feel more continuous, while a contrasting grout brings more attention to the individual shapes.

For a renovation, lay out a few pieces before installation to see how the pattern meets cabinets and fixtures. This also helps determine where cuts will be most noticeable.

Mosaic Tile offers 5x6 ceramic hexagons for projects that call for a distinctive geometric detail. Contact us to order a sample and see the tile with your actual materials and lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I use 5x6 ceramic hexagons?

They are suitable for wall applications such as kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, shower surrounds, and fireplace surrounds. The right application depends on the project conditions and installation requirements.

Does grout color change the appearance?

Yes. A grout color close to the tile makes the overall pattern feel quieter, while a contrasting color makes each hexagon more visible. Test a sample before choosing. Consider the room's lighting and surrounding finishes, since both can affect how the grout and tile colors appear. A sample board also shows how much contrast you want before installation.

Can I combine hexagons with other tile shapes?

Yes. A larger rectangular tile provides a simple counterpoint to the geometric shape of 5x6 ceramic hexagons, especially when used on adjacent surfaces.

Should I order a sample?

A sample lets you check the tile against cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, and room lighting before placing an order.
